Introducing Monumatic

The spiritual successor to Poly Cinematic, Monumatic makes its purpose loud and clear as a polysynth. But as its name implies, monosynth is also at the core of its design despite its massive 8 voice architecture, it has more flexibility, more modes, and more reasons to get patching.

Oscillation is the beating heart of any synth, and Monumatic doesn’t hold back. You get 16 oscillator modes, with up to 7 oscillators per voice, all virtual analog and modeled with zero samples. From Classic to experimental — dial in Casio-style Phase Distortion (CZ), lo-fi Solina-style strings (Ens), “noisy cassette” strings (Noise), percussive drawbar organs (Perc), pulse width modulation (PW), a massive Roland-style SuperSaw (Super 7), or the legendary Vox Humana from the Polymoog (Vox)., the list goes on. Feeling adventurous? Try the asymmetric sync modes in saw or square waves. Then shape the tone further with the Detune knob — your gateway to harmonic richness and timbre tweaking. Need that smooth Oberheim OB-X8 one lfo per voice string sound? (X8) Monumatic has your back.

Once you’ve chosen your voice, route it through Monumatic’s built-in Filter and stereo Reverb sections for even more sonic character. You’ve got six filter types to play with: phase-shifting All-Pass (Phase), 12 dB/oct high-pass and low-pass (High, Low), Butterworth 24 dB Low pass (LP24), a funky dual-peak notch (Notch), and even a vowel filter for vocal-style formants. Add some Drive for extra grit and warmth wherever you need it.

Despite all that power, Monumatic sticks to Knobula’s roots — minimal controls, immediate results, and none of the menu-diving that kills inspiration. Everything’s right there, ready to tweak.

Plug in CV and start modulating. You can assign two CV inputs (CV A and CV B) to any parameter instantly, with a dedicated Gate In, V/Oct, and Filter CV input to complete your perfect patch. Prefer MIDI? Just jack into the MIDI In and take full control — with MIDI CC and MPE support, you can bring expressive playing and seamless DAW integration into your rack.

Want quick chords or lush layers? Use a single CV/Gate pair to trigger the eight onboard chord presets — fully programmable and perfect for stabs and pads, or for arpeggiated textures tap the Polyphonic button and Monumatic will assign spare voices to keep the notes ringing out.

And for those chasing the perfect tuning — Monumatic introduces microtuning to modular. Dial in vintage-style oscillator drift or apply real-time adaptive just intonation for beautifully organic harmonic movement. You can even assign it to CV for hands-on tuning shifts mid-performance.

At just 12HP, Monumatic packs serious polyphonic power into a small footprint. With expanded CV control, a wider palette of oscillator modes and filters, and a sound engine ready for deep expression, it’s the natural evolution of Poly Cinematic — and a perfect fit for any Eurorack system that could use a little more harmonic muscle.
